Have you ever walked into an environment that affects your composure immediately, even without being told anything?
What could have been the cause?
Few weeks ago, I visited one of the revered places in France with my friend and it left an impact.
Though I had read about the inhabitants of this place and the powerful events it held, the feeling I had at the first sight was nothing compared to what I had read.
Castles are exactly what movies and stories paint them, a little exaggerated (or maybe not) but the feelings are real.
Château de Versailles is a former hometown to popular Kings of France, starting from King Louis XIV in the 17th century, who made notable events in the history of France before it became a democratic state to the last King of France, King Louis XVI.
On sight of this grand palace, my imagination traveled far back to the previous centuries and I could immediately understand why royalty was such a big deal.
While pictures may not do justice to my illustration but If you walked through the gate of this chateau, you would behave like the environment; Calm, Calculated, and Classy. The expectations of people of noble births were at par with the architecture of the building. The gardens as well portrayed nothing other than beauty, love, warmth, boundaries, organization, and other positive values; it was everything a paradise should be.
At some point, I fantasized about living in that era but as royalty of course! 😀
The psychology of this environment held no hostile thoughts or behaviour; even if you were thought a rascal, you would become a Prince/Princess upon arrival. One needed no communication to understand the values of that palace other than its architecture; it left me in awe. The same feeling goes for other places I've visited; parks, museums, monuments, old churches, etc.
Narrowing this experience down to our lives and businesses, we would understand why Designs and Branding are paramount to productivity.
Landscaping, Interior Designs, Decorations, and other environmental aesthetics shape our minds and reactions; It does an instant communication of who and what you stand for and reduces the effort of convincing yourself or your clients of the values you want from yourself or them.
If you want positive impacts on your behaviour and that of your network, start with your environmental aesthetics. You could start with your personal space.
